To start this project I first had to take a deep dive into Milton Glaser’s work, and initially I didn’t know who he was. After looking at his work for all of a minute, I realized that I’ve seen at least half of the works before. This project was assigned shortly after his death, that being said it felt appropriate to make the mock-shower a retrospective. I wanted the piece to be reminiscent of his work but also respectful of his passing. One his works that stood out to me most was a poster showing the poster itself crumbled up in a ball on the poster. I thought the idea of the poster being on the poster is a super interesting idea. While a crumbled ball seemed a little to dark while symbolizing someone’s death, a turning page felt appropriate.

I wanted to showcase all of the musts on this poster. I wanted to have the famous “I Love NY,” Milton Glaser’s Studio Logo, and his famous quote, “Art is Work.” I wanted to keep it pretty simple with the color but also needed it to be bold. So I stuck with black, white, and red.
